The Bump is at Least Eight Points

The polls are showing a terrific swing towards the Democrats. We are now up by 8 points, and it may be higher tomorrow. Michelle Obama, Hillary and Bill Clintion, and Joe Biden have turned the convention on its ear. Then Barack walked in and did it all over again.

This is a shining day for the Democrats. We are riding high. Everything is going our way.

Even the Republicans seem to be helping us. Their choice of Sarah Palin for vice president is going to blow up in their faces. They seem to be happy, but that won't last. Check out what the misguided souls at GOP Flag say about Sarah Palin. They are touting the experience of Governor Palin, but when they look at the time served, you won't see that much experience.

Bill Clinton heartily endorses Barack

It was a relief to finally hear from former President Bill Clinton. From the moment he took the stage, he had the crowd mesmerized. Mr. Clinton really came through for us. He urged his wife's supporters to vote for Barack. He took McCain to task for his record. He stated emphatically that Barack is "... ready to lead America and to restore American leadership in the world."

Thank you, Bill. You are a gentleman and a great statesman. Our hats are off to you.

No Way; No How; No McCain

Hillary did it. She has come out strongly in support of Barack. Rumor has it that she will be very active in the campaign. We, at Liberal Shout, strongly urge her to continue to speak out loud and often.

“It is time to take back the country we love."

"Whether you voted for me or you voted for Barack, the time is now to unite as a single party with a single purpose. "

"Barack Obama is my candidate, and he must be our president.”

“We are on the same team, and none of us can afford to sit on the sidelines.”

“No way; no how; no McCain.”

Thank you, Hillary.

Senator Ted will be speaking tonight

A courageous Ted Kennedy will take to the podium tonight at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. Senator Kennedy will appear on stage even though he has been advised not to exert himself in this fashion. Many say that the trip to Denver and the speaking engagement are too strenuous and therefore too risky.

As you probably know, Senator Ted had brain surgery on June 2. He has spent most of his time since then recuperating.

Nevertheless, Senator Ted will be on stage, and we applaud him. He has been the face of Democratic politics for decades. We are sure that he will continue to represent the poor, the needy, the underrepresented for years to come.

The convention starts tonight. Get ready!!!

Joe Biden wrote to us

Well, actually, it was an e-mail that was sent out to everybody on the Obama mailing list.

But we still take pride.

Here is what Joe had to say.

"Over the next few weeks, I'll be doing a lot of the things you've done to grow this movement -- reaching out day after day in neighborhoods all across the country, connecting with people who are hungry for the change we need. This is no ordinary time, and this is no ordinary election.

"I plan to do everything I can to help Barack take back the White House. I don't need to tell you that John McCain will just bring us another four years of the same. You can't change America when you supported George Bush's policies 95% of the time. Barack has the vision and the courage to bring real change to Washington. But even he can't do this alone.

"Join me by getting involved in your community -- and reach out to your friends and family to get them involved as well."

We at Liberal Shout, wish Barack and Joe all the best. They make a great team.

Obama picks Joe Biden for Vice President

Barack has announced his choice, and what a choice it is. Senator Joe Biden of Delaware will be our next Vice President. Joe brings a lot to the table. It is an excellent choice.

Senator Joe is the senior senator from Delaware, and he has a strong connection to Pennsylvania. He has always been known as a plain talking, down-to-earth man. His experience with foreign affairs and national security will be a great asset to the ticket.

Senator Joe, we welcome you.
